With the delay of the implementation of ICD-10, many people are wondering what steps to take next. According to the new law, ICD-10 may not be implemented before 10/1/15. However, there is no guarantee that it will be implemented at that time. There is even speculation that ICD-10 may be skipped altogether in favor of ICD-11 which is scheduled to be presented to the World Health Assembly in 2017. Many are calling on the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) for guidance regarding an implementation deadline and what to do about the training and steps already taken to transition to the new codes. So far, none has been given.
Due to the uncertainty, Florida Chiropractic Conferences has postponed our ICD-10 Boot Camp for all dates. We will continue to monitor the situation as it progresses and will reschedule for later dates if appropriate.
